When there's a charge
Only oversized events cost anything. An event is oversized if either of these is true:
More weight classes than standard
Every ruleset has a standard number of weight classes. Stay at or under it and you're free.
- High School — National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS)14
- College — National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)10
- Freestyle / Greco-Roman — United World Wrestling (UWW)10
A bracket larger than 16 wrestlers
Brackets of 4, 8, and 16 are free. A 32- or 64-wrestler bracket makes the tournament billable, even if the weight class count is standard.
Duals have one bout per weight class, so bracket size never applies to them.
What it costs
Crossing a limit makes the whole event billable — not just the part that went over.
- Tournaments: $2 per bracket, one time.
- Duals: $2 per bout, one time.
